the brother of a close friend of mine passed away in a car accident this morning. this close friend of mine was my maid of honor on my wedding and this brother of hers was my ex-schoolmate. so sad… and again, i cant go and visit my friend coz i’m still in confinement 🙁 so young… he’s going to be 25 this yr – and he’s pretty good-looking too. so sad… cant believe he’s really gone. well, may his soul rest in peace.

Jnr took more pics of her but almost all of them are taken while she was sleeping.

actually, i’m a bit worried about her being asleep most of the time. i know i’ve read somewhere before that newborns need 23hrs sleep but still, i cant help being worried. the first day she’s home, she slept for like a few hours and at night, she woke up about every 2-3 hrs. since yesterday, she slept the whole day through and even at night, she woke up only about twice or three times – and she didnt even cried – which is actually good but STILL i’m worried. are newborns really live like this? i mean, she wont even wake up for feeding. i hv to wake her up and feed her otherwise, she’ll just sleep, sleep and sleep. and she dozed off while i was still feeding her. checked her nappy and surprised on how wet it was and she didnt even cried to let me know she’s uncomfortable. this is something i should be worried of, shouldnt i?

What is post natal depression?
Post natal depression is one of the names used for the severe mood changes that a woman can experience after childbirth (usually in the first year after the birth). It is natural for a woman to experience mood changes after she gives birth, but post natal depression is when the feelings last more than two weeks, or are very severe, and have a significant negative affect on her life.

This is different to the feelings that are called the ‘blues’, when a woman feels down or weepy in the first few days after childbirth. It is very common for women to have bad days and feel a whole range of emotions at this time, after all, her body, lifestyle and family have just undergone a massive change.

Gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on the dawn of Wednesday Feb 02, 2005 – at 2:54 a.m. She weighs about 3.5kg – that would be about 7.7lbs. Welcome Ellone, welcome all sleepless nights ahead 🙂

so many things happened for the past few days but it’s funny i find i dont hv much to write. i’ve been wanting to blog during my one week leave but the house phone was down for the whole week – a very good timing for the phone to break down! – so… i wasnt able to post a single thing. i thought it’s going to be a wonderful and relaxing week but i was wrong, it turned out to be the worst break i’ve ever had; i cant wait to get back to work. i shouldve cancelled my leave – oh well, it’s all over now and all i can do is look forward to what the future hv in store for me – especially the baby’s arrival.

i hv a sort of mixed feeling about the baby. in a way, i can say i’m happy – beyond words – and excited, anxious and yet, i’m a bit scared – will i be a good mother? can i take good care of her? am i ready?

i hv a feeling that this is going to be a loooooong post. but i think it’s fine coz i wont hv much time to blog for a few days anyway; with christmas around the corner and stuff, i definitely wont hv the time to write.

What A Fine Thursday Morning

went for my fortnightly visit to the gynae and again, i was told that i’ve got urine infection – too much protein probably bcos of not drinking enough water. i hv to wait for about 1 hr to see the dr and done in abt 5 mins. the dr just checked the baby’s head, the thigh bone and the heartbeat and then gave me the usual “baby is growing normally” info and that’s it. to tell you the truth, i was quite disappointed coz i wanted to see my baby’s face so much. during my last visit, i saw her – she’s very chubby. well, i think i’ll just hv to wait for my next visit.

The Best Dim Sum in KK

after the visit, went to hv breakfast at Foo Phing Dim Sum – the best Dim Sum in Kota Kinabalu (and most probably Sabah). If you’re planning to visit Sabah (Kota Kinabalu), make sure to put Foo Phing Dim Sum in your list. It’s in Taman Hilltop, somewhere near Lintas Plaza. Oh but by the way, it’s non-halal.

when i got back at the office, a large wall calendar + a table calendar + an organizer (courtesy of UMS) is waiting for me in my pigeon hole. and on my table, there’s also a Thank You card from a student – thanking me for fixing his notebook yesterday. hmm… so nice and so thoughtful of that boy. at first i thought it was a christmas card. feels so good to be appreciated.

few days ago, heard a local singer, Juwita Suwito, sang this song. Thanks to her, now i’m now so addicted to that song. I’ve just realized that Christmas is just 2 days away and i’m supposed to go back to my hometown (Tambunan) tomorrow. I havent done any shopping yet… i mean, christmas presents for my brothers and sister. what will i get them? and my mom???? what will i get her?? my dad’s offshore now and wont be around for christmas. i think i’ll have to do some last minute shopping tonight. maybe i’ll buy them clothes and for my mom, guess i’ll get her some Body Shop products. perfumes maybe… we’ll see… hmphhhh… i hv a feeling i’ll max out my credit card tonight.

Last night, went to see Phanton of the Opera. actually i’m not really into musical but this movie is different. has a very calming effect. even the baby didnt moved/kicked that much. i didnt know Emmy Rossum (of The day After Tomorrow) sings opera.
