sorry for the lack of updates coz i’m currently having my induction course (or is it inductive course? someone, pls correct me)

what’s that for?

well, last year, i’ve told u guys that i passed my interview to be a permanent staff of UMS but… that wasnt the final stage. i am a permanent staff but i wasnt confirmed yet. to become a real UMS staff, u’d hv to be “tetap dan disahkan jawatan” so, in order to get confirmed, we hv to attend this induction course lah!

started off with an outdoor course at Outdoor Development Center (ODEC), which is a place quite similar to OBS and to those of you who are not familiar with either ODEC or OBS, it’s actually a place for you to get adventurous

we spent two days there

on day one, we were divided into four groups and i ended up in grp 3. there are only two guys in my group. we were asked to find a name for our group and they come up with the name D’ Scholar. i kinda like the name Excell which also has been proposed but, since most of them are lecturers, they unanimously vote for the former so, what to do la… hv to follow majority maahhh… i’m holding the lowest position of them all, i mean, there are 14 of us in that group, 11 being lecturers, 1 counsellor, 1 IT Officer (1 of my Bosses) and 1 Assistant IT Officer – that’s me. the keyword here is “assistant” ya… so, when u’re the assistant, paham2 saja lah…

i dont really get it, why do we (assistants) hv to attend this induction course with the professional’s group. in the HR system, we assistants are not categorized as professionals, we actually falls under the supporting staff category… in some ways, this had actually put me off a bit..

oh, and the instructor sometimes referred to the groups by names like Alpha (Grp1), Bravo (Grp 2), Charlie (Grp 3 – that’s us) and Delta (Grp 4). since we’re also known as charlie and there are only two guys in our group, we adopted the name charlie’s angels and also adopted the slogan “Girl Power!”

You Go Girl!!! damn! the blue helmet makes me look dumb! OMG, my kapala is sooo bulat, just like a moon ooo…

anyway, i had so much fun on the first two days. the first day, in the morning, our group had to do the “High Rope” activity.

okay, the ladder looks fine kan? but i tell u, this ladder is actually moving from side to side while u’re climbing. erkk… baru naik tangga pun, i feel like giving up already! i’m scared of heights so it takes me a few minutes to reach 25 feet off ground, where i will start to “walk on a rope”!

kijap aaa… I count first. 2006-7 = (u guys are so not going to believe dis, I actually had to open the calculator and punched in the numbers to get the results ) okay, 2006-7 = 1999 and no, I’m not 1999 yrs old at that time, 1999-1979 = 20. means, I shd be 20 seven yrs ago, but since I was born on December, so, 7 yrs ago from today, I was 19 yrs old. tried to remember the address but I couldn’t. but I was staying in Taman Universiti, a big double-storey hse – hse no. 15 if I’m not mistaken.

emm… I cant really remember, but I always had long hair, so I think, yaa… maybe long, thick unruly wavy hair… oya, jnr helped me to dye them red I used L’Oreal sumthing-sumthing Copper Red! Oh, gosh! I actually had red hair 7 yrs ago!

no. was thinking to but since they said I hv to cabut 1 tooth, tidak jadi lah…

Did you wear glasses?:
no and I still don’t. I’m surprised I hv a very good eyesight despite having to stare at the computer screen for a living.

Jnr, Joyce Siambun, my hsemates and… I actually hv a lot. No need to name them all lah, in case I forgot one name, merajuk pula nanti

emm… we had three days off coz yesterday was labour day and i had almost gone crazy coz the phone line is dead and that means, no internet for three days! i was so handicapped. i couldnt even do my literature assignment bcos i need to translate things and online dictionary was not available huh, our lives has become more and more dependant on the net nowadays. and seven yrs ago, i’ve never even heard of it. joyce was the one who introduced the internet to me kan os? ko ingat lagi ka tu? she’s also the one who introduced me to e-mail and personal homepage… and oya, chatting.

and yesterday, we went to karamunsing KFC coz i wanted to try the new KFC Chicken Chop

looks more like a 1 peace speacial to me or happy meal number n and wahhh… taste like chicken ooo *duh!*

i dunno ooo but nowadays, k*fc keep coming up with a lot of ridiculous ideas. sorry, i used to love k*fc but lately, as a consumer, i cant help feeling cheated by their ads. c*olonel burger and z*inger burger used to be our all time favs but now, c*olonel/z*inger burger with a few (usually not more than 2) “strands” of unfresh kubis salad doesnt look appetizing anymore.

oklah, enough la k*fc tu.

well, i know it loads very very very slow and those of u using mozilla, the look is a bit different from IE. it doesnt turn out the way i want it to be – especially the scrollbars on my sidebar and the main content. since i oredi spent so much time in editing the design (pls note, this is not my design, i curi it from somewhere else), i tot i shd at least publish it for may be a day or two. lagi pun, i’m kinda bored oredi with my current template. tired of seeing pink everyday.

looks like i hv to go skin hunting again…

from today onwards, i’m going to say this prayer every morning. having an IDIOT boss can be quite challenging.

this morning, our ellone woke us up at 6.00 in the morning with her singing. Guess what she sang? “I love daddy! I love daddy!” (Barney’s I love you, you love me’s tune) i think she’s inherited the singing gene from my papa and i’m not surprised coz she’s been singing since she’s only two weeks old . she surprised me back then, i was singing Mary Had A Little Lamb and she actually hummed along with me!

later, we went to have breakfast at this Wan Wan Seafood Restaurant. this was only my 2nd time going there coz i dont eat seafood that much, y’know, with my allergy and all… but since today is Good Friday and we’re not to eat meat on this day, we went there lah… but if you like tomyams, then trust me, you’re going to love the tomyam here… the yummiest i’ve tasted so far.

so after breakfast, we go back home and i continue doing my assignment. i was doing an assignment for our world literature class where we hv to study and analyse a novel of our own choice. so, i chose Amy Tan’s The Kitchen God’s Wife and since i’m so lazy, i just search the internet for it’s study guide. manage to find a few but all are written in english. our assignment has to be done in malay so… gosh! hv to translate lah… now i really hate translating and i think i hv an entry somewhere mentioning why i hate translating english to malay. oya, i mentioned it in this post.

one of my classmates gave me a link to a website providing english-malay translation. she did mention that the translation is not that accurate but i tot, at least it will save me some time. but really, i didnt really expect it to be so terrible so i wasnt quite prepared to see the stuff i’m about to show you.
