The Pink Ribbon Tag

 awareness

Aiya!! I totally forgot October is supposed to be the Cancer Awareness month! Last year, i was tagged by Azlina and i only found out i was tagged on the final week of October. However, I had still manage to change my blog template to pink.

This year, i was tagged again by Herda and Kak Zue, again on the final week of October. i’d really love to go all pink [with the template] but i guess this time around, time is not on my side. I’ve got a lot of deadlines to meet within the next few days, but don’t get me wrong, I’m still giving my full 100% support to this campaign.

The rules to place this logo are pretty much simple.

All you have to do is:
1. Put the logo on your blog.
2. Add a link to the person who shared it with you.
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
4. Add links to these blogs on your blog.
5. Leave a message for your nominee on their blog.

And so, I would like to tag:

Each and everyone of you! Anybody who is interested in supporting this campaign, you’re welcomed to pass on the pink ribbon.

It’s not over

isn’t life ironic?

just when i have just gone over the top with online shopping in this entry, i’m now facing the worst nightmare of an online shopper, the very kind of thing that puts aspiring online shoppers off.

OWH MANNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so the fate of my paypal account with almost RM800 worth of funds is now in the hand of the @$$**LE paypal-fund-seller. who keeps saying that RM800 is nothing compared to RM3K that he lost. And he refused to refund the money saying that it’s not him that is holding the fund, it’s paypal!

He said he was told to wait for 180 days for his account to be released and until then, the fund he transferred to me earlier [USD225] will be put on hold!

DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m beginning to hate all these. Exciting new experience my @$$!

Maybe it’s me

Taken from Facebook status : Mimi is currently pissed off with paypal.

Why???

*no mood to write properly. will only write in point form*

Monday

a friend asked for help to buy something from the internet that requires paypal as method of payment

Tuesday

tried to pay using paypal, paypal keep displaying the card that was already removed from the list with no other option

keep trying for almost half-day, only found out in the evening that the current card hasn’t been linked & confirmed by paypal yet and had already exceed the [paypal] spending limit.

Wednesday

look for ppl who wants to sell paypal fund [yeah… and i did asked from some of you]

finally found one, bought USD 225, made the payment via maybank2u and sent an email to the paypal seller in the morning

worry the whole morning coz didn’t hear anything from the paypal seller until afternoon

finally saw him online, go and chat with him but i think he has mistaken me for somebody else, keep saying something about some form that needs to be scanned and sent to [supposedly] me – which kinda a pissed me off also, but said nothing

at about 3 o’clock in the afternoon, send me an email saying he couldn’t transfer the paypal fund coz his paypal account is frozen

at about 4.30, feel worried so asked my cousin for help to transfer fund from his paypal account by credit card. he agreed but before he sent it, i thought i should asked the paypal seller to refund my money.

he’s still online so i went to chat with him and the conversation went like this:

me : hi, regarding the paypal fund… [i’m not finished yet, he immediately answered]

paypal seller : i send now

me : eh? they unfreeze your account already?

paypal seller : got another account

me : owh… *dumbfounded*

thanked my cousin for wanting to help but i said no need to transfer coz prob solved.

the seller transferred USD220 only, USD5 short. told him, he said will send the balance soon. after half an hour, checked paypal account, funds were already available.

immediately paid for the something and felt utter bliss for finally completing pending transaction.

had quite a good nite sleep. [thought the nightmare is over]

Today

out of office until afternoon.

came back, checked email. surprised and totally upset for receiving 4 emails from paypal saying that my account has been frozen, they are currently investigating (2 emails about this) and transaction was put on hold [the buying of my friend’s something]. OWH MANNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

luckily already informed the seller about the problems i had with paypal earlier, so she told me that she’ll wait. Bless her for being so understanding and so patient.

for investigation purposes, paypal asked for a copy of my ic and a copy of recent utility bill bearing the address that i registered with them. sent. only hope they understand that BGN is the short form of BANGUNAN.

i do understand that it is their security measures, but i couldn’t help being all pissed off because i know i’m the only one handling my accounts right now and i’m 100% sure there are no frauds or what so ever. ok, maybe there are some ‘suspicious activities’ for the past few days, but rest assured all those ‘suspicious activities’ are done by me!

OMG! This is by far my worst online shopping experience ever! And it’s not even for me!

But may be it’s me bah.. if i had confirmed all my cards with paypal before, none of this would have happened, kan?

Like the seller said ONCE YOU GET IT SORTED OUT, PAYPAL IS WONDERFUL’

and i do hope so

The Optical Story

I’m the eldest of 5 siblings – I have 3 brothers and a sister.

My sister and one of my brothers wear glasses. During the school holidays last August, my sister came to visit and told me that she need a new pair of glasses. Actually, she was thinking of getting contact lenses but my dad doesn’t approve of contact lenses because he have heard so many horror stories about it. So I brought my sister to 1Borneo and there are lots and lots of optical store, but my sister was having a hard time to decide which one to choose because she doesn’t really like what she saw. Although there are many stores, most of them are offering more or less the same design. The nicer glasses of course are more costly. After quite some time, she finally made up her mind on a pair, but I’m not sure whether she’s satisfied with her choice. But then again, she has to because I was the one who paid for them.

When my brother found out that sister has new glasses, he told me that he wanted to have new glasses too. So, he came to KK, brought him to 1Borneo and he also spent quite a long time to decide on which pair to choose. When he finally decided on a pair, I can see that he’s not that satisfied with it, but he bought it anyway.

Wouldn’t it be nice if I’d known about ZenniOptical.com earlier. Shopping for my brother’s and sister’s glasses would be so much easier! Being an online shopper, I would definitely order from this website because they do take international orders, as long as your credit cards billing information and shipping information are the same.

ZenniOptical.com offers a wide range of Stylish Prescription Eyeglasses, from as low as $8 per pair! They offered varieties of frames, rimless to full rim and also lens such as single vision, sunsensor (potochromic), tinted sunglasses, bifocal, progressive, etc. They have also categorize their glasses to Children’s Frames, Women’s Fashion and Men’s Classics so that you can easily navigate and browse all the glasses. Besides offering a huge selections of eyeglasses, their website also has informations on RX terms, how to choose a frame and on lens/materials which I found very informative. ZenniOptical.com has received positive reports and even the popular U.S. talk radio host of the program The Clark Howard Show recommended them.

If I am wearing glasses, I think I’d buy this one

KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

This is 4937 Stainless Steel Half-Rim Frame with Acetate Temples and cost about $29.95 and if I have extra money to spare, I might consider this one. This is a 3754 Rimless Pure Titanium Frame.

KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

This particular frame design has 4 different colors to choose from.

KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

Really love the frame design! So0ooo…. stylish!

I know my brother and sister would have loved these glasses from ZenniOptical.com. Don’t you feel like getting one for yourself too? I heard that new frames have just arrived…

Online Shopping Made Easy

I love shopping online. How about you?

I know some of my friends also just LOVE shopping online. For those who have never done it before, trust me, once you started, you can never stop. You will be constantly looking for things to buy on the net. You have to agree with me, the internet has now provide extra ordinary shopping experience different from the normal shopping we used to do.

Honestly, I’m not sure why but the satisfaction of shopping online is totally different from the one you get when you go shopping at the mall. Browsing through all the displayed items in the comfort of your own space, clicking the ‘Add to Cart’ button, checking out, paying by Paypal, communicating through email with the seller… all these bring undescribable satisfaction known only to online shoppers.

Although with online shopping, we need to wait for a few days [or even weeks and months] for the items to arrive, still, even the waiting cause so much excitement. I remembered receiving my first online-bought item, i was so excited I feel like jumping up and down! And what did I buy? 12 pcs of Great Britain stamps Later on, i slowly gained my confidence and started buying something bigger than stamps. I started to buy books online, clothings, handbags, gadgets… and when my friend Joyce started me on Cloth Diapers, i admit i got addicted to online shopping for a few months [so far, Cloth Diapers are only sold online]. But the thing with buying Cloth Diapers, the local online store have very limited choice so, i started looking for international Cloth Diapers online store! How did i search for the stores? Well, I search by Google and of course, there will be a lot of unrelated websites included in the search results.

Then, I heard about ShopWiki. Have you heard about this website before? If you haven’t, let me do the honor of sharing them with you, especially YOU, online shoppers. Now you don’t have to search using Google for online stores anymore because ShopWiki is more appropriate to use for this purpose. It is not only a powerful search engine for available products, but it also helps you to get the best deal possible by providing a real, unbiased and comprehensive information about your product of interest. Take a little time to check out this link : Xbox 360 Buying Guide. Just look at the detailed guide provided by the website. Impressive, isn’t it?

I was also impressed by their searching features. I tried searching for Cloth Diapers and besides displaying all the results, the function to narrow down your search result is also provided. You can narrow them down by price, by Brand (you can either type in the brand or select from the drop-down menu) and also by color! I’m truly impressed!

With all the excitement this ultimate shopping search engine brings, bear in mind that ShopWiki itself is NOT an online store but it helps us, online shoppers to look for the exact products we have in mind and refer us to the best store that sells that particular product. And with this, I’d like to quote a line from ShopWiki’s website

“Whether you’re just beginning to research a product or you know exactly what you want, ShopWiki should be your first stop when you’re ready to shop.”

Condolences…

… to the family of the Engineer at J*PP U*MS who passed away last Saturday.

I don’t really know her – ok, let me rephrase that – I don’t know her coz i think she’s new here. Heard about her passing this morning so, i tried to search the net for the news but i found her fotopages and blog instead.

her last entry in her blog dated 3rd October 2008 (the day before she passed away) really intrigues me. read it for yourself and you’d know what i mean.

that particular entry got me into thinking…

will we know when our time comes?

will we get the instinct that it is going to be our last day?

10 Supercool things to do while waiting for your turn at the bank

just admit it.

waiting for your turn at the bank can be really boring, especially if you’re alone, it’s a few days before raya and the bank is packed with ppl doing some last minute money-changing, you have to stand coz all the waiting seats are taken, there are like 20 ppl before your turn is up and there is only one or two open counter(s).

wouldn’t it be nice if you can do something to kill the time?

my friend, si-kicik has come up with some brilliant ideas [mind you, si-kicik is always full of brilliant ideas] on what to do while waiting.

so, how? can use kah the ideas? let me know what you think aa..
